Vote for Pell, Boone County Commissioner Indiana
  Sunday May 18 2025

Dear Residents of Boone County,

I am honored to present my candidacy as your next Boone County Commissioner. I believe in a future guided by strategic growth, fiscal integrity, and united communities.

Here's what I stand for:

1. Strategic Growth: I pledge to envision the future of our county with foresight and prudence, ensuring that every step forward is a step in the right direction, aligned with our financial capabilities.

2. Fiscal Integrity: Transparency and responsibility in spending are paramount. I am committed to discerning our true needs, adhering to a carefully crafted plan, and avoiding unnecessary tax burdens on our citizens.

3. United Communities: Together, we can make Boone County the epitome of an ideal place to live and raise a family. It's imperative that we achieve this vision affordably and sustainably, without resorting to tax hikes.

My approach is refreshingly simple yet effective. I will apply common sense in every decision and foster collaboration with other county offices, as well as with cities and towns, through open communication.

As we for inevitable growth, it's imperative that we strategize effectively for the benefit of all stakeholders. A recent study by K2M Consulting estimated the need for key infrastructure additions in the coming years:

1. A new EMA/EOC/911 center: $22,133,719 million (plus 10% for site development). This was not included in the new jail being built, a big miss.

2. A new property and building for the County Highway: $18,368,625 million (plus 10% for site development)

3.A new courthouse: $98,580,307 million (plus 10% for site development)

4.A new government complex: $35,892,261 million (plus 10% for site development)

These figures, provided by K2M Consulting, highlight the magnitude of our infrastructure needs. Moreover, they emphasize the importance of exploring innovative solutions for our existing assets, such as repurposing the courthouse for community benefit.

It's crucial to note that my opponent has overseen two significant tax increases during their tenure, with the looming expense of expanding the jail costing us $72M, further straining our resources. On May 7th, 2024, I respectfully ask for your support as we endeavor to recalibrate our trajectory and ensure a prosperous future for Boone County.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Scott Pell
